Our confidence and belief in tourism.

For COTUR, it has been a very demanding but very fruitful year, with achievements that, rather than writing pages of our history in gold letters, reinforce our confidence and belief in tourism in Mozambique.
We enter 2026 rewarded with the trust of our clients for the work we have done over the last 12 months. We begin this new year with the same conviction that has accompanied us since 1994: that trust is earned in the details, in those critical moments when we respond when no one else does, when we solve when no one else can.
That's the end of the year. And so we began a new one. The memories and the satisfaction of having done our duty are kept on our chests like medals of honor. To all those who are part of this great story, we wish you an excellent 2026, with health, peace and success, both personal and professional.
2025 was a year of consolidation for the industry, but also a demanding one. On a global scale, tourism continued to recover and grow, even in a context of volatility and uncertainty. The latest data from UN Tourism points to growth of around 5% in international arrivals between January and September 2025, already above the pre-pandemic levels of 2019, a clear sign that travel has once again become a priority for millions of people and companies. In aviation, demand remained strong and occupancy levels reached record highs, with IATA highlighting the intensity of the 2025 summer peak and record occupancies with planes fuller than ever, despite economic and geopolitical tensions.
At the same time, this recovery has come with an operational “price”: pressure on capacity, supply chains and costs. IATA itself has been clear: the industry may achieve historic results in absolute value, but it still has very low net margins, which makes efficiency and reliability even more crucial.
This directly affects customers because, in the end, it's all about the quality of the service and, with less margin for error, the importance of choosing the right travel partner who delivers with rigor is even greater.
In Mozambique, we say goodbye to 2025 with the sector showing clear signs of consolidation and new opportunities on the horizon. There are great expectations of growth, driven by the strengthening of air connectivity, with the imminent entry of Fastjet and the process of acquiring aircraft by LAM, determining factors for mobility, domestic tourism and boosting the economy.
For COTUR, it has been a very demanding but very fruitful year, with achievements that, rather than writing pages of our history in gold letters, reinforce our confidence and belief in tourism in Mozambique:
1- Tourism with international standards, consistency and trust: COTUR achieved its ISO 9001 certification, awarded by Bureau Veritas, in a historic milestone for the tourism industry, with a Mozambican company for the first time reaching the international level in what the market already demands: processes, rigor and continuous improvement.
2- Tourism where the companies in the sector are among the best in the country: COTUR has consolidated its leadership in the sector, also managing to be the largest services company and the 8th best company in the country overall, in the KPMG ranking for the “100 Largest Companies in Mozambique”
3- Tourism where public-private cooperation is the driving force behind the country's development: COTUR signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Council of State Representation Services in Maputo City (CSRECM), formalizing a public-private cooperation agenda for the promotion of tourism and culture in Maputo.
4- Tourism is the banner of international reputation that projects the Mozambique brand: In Brussels, at the World Tourism Awards 2025, COTUR received the “Best Tourism Entrepreneur” award, raising the sector's external credibility and reinforcing that Mozambique can compete and be recognized on demanding stages.
5- Tourism that is recognized at the highest level as a priority and a symbol of national pride: In the last days of 2025, in the middle of the Assembly of the Republic, during the “State of the Nation” report, His Excellency Daniel Chapo, President of the Republic, mentioned COTUR and the international distinction in Brussels, in a moment that will go down in history as the confirmation of tourism as a strategic pillar and reason for national valorization.
This means that Mozambican tourism can, and must, operate at the level the country deserves. For COTUR, it means that we enter 2026 with more operational maturity, more scrutiny and with an even greater responsibility.
For 2026, our reading is optimistic, but there has to be discipline. The industry will continue to grow, but growing “well” will depend on connectivity, real capacity, efficiency and confidence. IATA anticipates continued growth and strong projections for 2026, albeit with reduced margins, which tends to increase the importance of solid partnerships and rigorous planning.
In tourism, the recent trajectory and indicators released by international organizations show resilience and sustained demand, even with global challenges.
At COTUR, 2026 will be a year to deepen what we already do well and elevate what the market is beginning to demand.
We will continue to introduce technological solutions and customer-oriented advantage programs, with a focus on value and real applicability.
